A method combining electronics and “ear tuning” is used. An electronic device first determines certain anchor tones. From there, all tuning is done by ear, testing with intervals…octaves, fifths, thirds etc.

REGULATION

Regulation involves adjusting the piano action to maximize the touch, tone and response of your piano. A partial regulation alone is often enough to make a substantial improvement in a piano’s playability. The more a player advances in skill, the more important a well regulated piano becomes.

VOICING

Voicing or tone regulation is a service many pianists are unaware of. Great improvements to the piano’s tone can be achieved with modest changes to the piano hammer’s density and alignment.

HUMITITY CONTROL SYSTEMS

We install Piano Life Saver Systems from Dampp-Chaser for vertical and grand pianos. These help mitigate the extreme humidity conditions we experience in Wisconsin to protect the piano and improve tuning stability.
